The Habits of Health has taught me small healthy decisions
I first started on this journey back in August of 2010 at my physician’s recommendation and at that point I weighed close to 400 pounds*. My health was at a very desperate place.
I am a registered nurse. I know what you need to do to get healthy. You eat less. You exercise more. But I could never put that together in a way that was effective or sustainable over time. And, honestly, I carried a lot of guilt and a lot of shame because of that.
The Habits of Health changed the way I look at everything, and it has allowed me to actually create the life that I truly believe I was created to live.
So, when my physician recommended the Habits of Health to me, I was skeptical at best, but I wasn’t willing to tell him that I wouldn’t try.
When I think about what my life was like back in August of 2010 and what it’s like now, it’s really hard to make a comparison between the two. The Habits of Health changed the way I looked at everything, and it has allowed me to actually create the life that I truly believe I was created to live. Because what I can do now is—on the most stressful days—come back to the small healthy decisions that the Habits of Health taught me.
